Well! that was a surprise. I visited my Doctor in 2015, because I thought in my non medical opinion that I had prostate cancer. The phone call from them to me went like to this “hello, its the Dr’s” “Ooh I’ve just been there”” I know can you come back”? “when”? “now”
When they said now, I thought it was curtains. It wasn’t, they happily told me I had Diabetes, gave me a nice little booklet and waved me off into the setting sun.
I went home thinking, it couldn’t possibly be serious because they didn’t seem at all worried. As you all know, I was wrong very wrong. I went back to Dr’s and the Nurse was well, disinterested really she told me I had to do something about my blood glucose and then went for lunch.
I went back, there is a theme developing here. This time I saw a Dr a locum, and he said have you seen this website? https://www.dietdoctor.com “no”
Well I have now. It has been a revelation, I’m sure I was told to eat pasta, and rice and not have a cake all lies , well the cake bit is true. If you haven’t found it, low carb is the way forward.
Which leads to a few questions:
Are diabetics taken seriously?
Do we take it seriously?
Can it be fixed?
If it’s such a massive problem, what are the government and NHS England doing about it?
